Theodore "Teddy" Bhaer was the son of Jo and Fritz Bhaer and the brother of Robin Bhaer and was named after Theodore Laurence

Teddy was born to author Josephine "Jo" Bhaer (née March) and professor Friedrich "Fritz" Bhaer. He had a happy childhood, growing up in Plumfield, the school his parents ran.
